gen_238.1.gif Paradise Chocolate Fest Goes to Zero Waste! Volunteers Needed

This year NRWS has teamed up with the Chocolate Fest to make this years Festival a Zero Waste Event. The goal is to compost and recycle over 93% of the waste. Vendors have been instructed to only use recyclable or compostable material. There will be 5 “Zero Waste Stations” on site with information booths and students from Evergreen 6 to help our
community learn more about the importance of recycling.

Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success. If you would like to
participate please contact Jennifer at 876-3345.

Together we can make a difference.

New Playground Area at Paradise Lake

Playground Structure at Paradise Lake

Young visitors to Paradise Lake can now enjoy the updated playground area. The rehabilitation project was presented to the lake committee in 2005 by Jennifer Barber as her senior project while at Paradise High School.

The surrounding cement block wall was built by the Paradise Rotary Club. The rubber bark which provides a safe area for young children was provided by a grant from the State of California Integrated Waste Management Board. The use of the rubber bark at Paradise Lake has stopped 3,325 tires from going to landfill.
